Jordyn Close

DEPUTY DIRECTOR (SHE/HER)

Jordyn Close (she/her) is a Black feminist and pro-abortion organizer committed to advancing reproductive justice with nearly ten years of experience in reproductive justice advocacy , grassroots campaigning, and Black liberation efforts. Her organizing is rooted in community, political change, and bold advocacy for bodily autonomy. Jordyn is focused on creating a future where communities are supported, empowered, and free. As the Deputy Director of Ohio Women's Alliance, she works to build collective power with women and gender-expansive people, BIPOC communities, and young people across Ohio, where she helps lead strategy, statewide programs, and a growing network of reproductive justice organizers. Jordyn joined OWA through the Reproductive Justice Table Cohort and later became Director of Campaigns, leading voter education, narrative efforts, and C3/C4 strategy statewide.

Jordyn also serves as the Board President of Abortion Fund of Ohio, the state's only statewide abortion fund, providing critical support and expanding abortion access throughout the Midwest.

A passionate abortion storyteller with We Testify, Jordyn aims to challenge abortion stigma and highlight the voices of Black and brown people who have had abortions. She now serves on We Testify’s Advisory Board, mentoring the next generation of storytellers.

Jordyn is a dedicated abolitionist and organizer, working on decriminalization, pro-abortion policies, and removing barriers to Black feminist political education. Her work has been featured in publications such as ELLE,Harper’s BAZAAR, Teen Vogue, Bustle, Cosmopolitan, Rewire, Prism, VICE, The Columbus Dispatch, If When How, Matter News, and more. Jordyn continues to organize and energize young people across Ohio and the Midwest, building a strong reproductive justice movement grounded in community and empowerment.
