Maisee Fried

**SUPER VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD**
**Maisee Fried, LSW, MSW** is a passionate advocate for equity and community. A 2021 graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work, she went on to earn her Master of Social Work (2024) with a focus on social justice and community engagement. Maisee is a proud alumna of the Ohio Women’s Alliance Reproductive Justice Table. She currently serves as Marketing and Communications Specialist at the Ohio State's Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity, where she began as a student and later served as an AmeriCorps VISTA Leader. She volunteers as Communications Manager for My Brother’s Keeper Ohio, uplifting stories and strategies that center racial justice.

Ohio Women’s Alliance is based in the state now known as Ohio, specifically on Shawnee, Myaamia, Hopewell, Kaskakia land. We are guests of the traditional stewards of this land. Ohio is the traditional territory of hundreds of different indigenous tribes and nations, including the Erie, Wyandotte, Mingo, Shawnee, Delaware, Miami, Huron, Ojibwe, Potawatomi and Odawa. In spite of ethnic cleansing, forcible removal, unrecognized sovereignty, and outright denial of their existence, indigenous people are still here.
