Mary Ellen Madden
SENIOR DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS (SHE/HER)
Mary Ellen is excited to bring over a decade of communications experience to OWA’s important work for reproductive justice in Ohio. She first became interested in justice issues during college when she began learning about workers’ rights issues in the U.S. and Latin America.
Before returning to her hometown of Cleveland in 2017, Mary Ellen spent ten years in Chicago doing advocacy work that was rooted in anti-racism; environmental justice; LGBTQ+ equity; and rights for women, immigrants, and workers. She has served on the board of the Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless since 2020.
In her free time, Mary Ellen enjoys cooking, live music, traveling, and exploring new pockets of Cleveland.
