Ohio Women’s Alliance (OWA) is a power-building Reproductive Justice organization providing programming, resources, and education for women, gender-expansive people, and youth across Ohio. This role will work across Ohio Women’s Alliance (a 501(c)(3)) and Ohio Women’s Alliance Action Fund (a 501(c)(4)), both nonprofit entities with intersecting yet separate missions.

Position Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Membership, the Services Coordinator is responsible for the execution of OWA’s Be Well: Sacred Circles and Member Assistance Programming (MAP), which includes working with health care clinics, surgical center facilities, abortion funds and clinics, practical support organizations, community partners, and other providers in the reproductive health field. The Services Coordinator is the primary point of contact for MAP volunteers and service recipients. In this role, the Services Coordinator is responsible for all care coordination for clients seeking abortion and reproductive healthcare services, seeking assistance through MAP.

This role will maintain relationships with referral sources and attend community events, increasing community awareness of OWA’s Direct Service Programs. The Service Coordinator will serve as a staff member implementing Sacred Circles programming in Southern Ohio, with strategic support from the Be Well team, to coordinate the expansion of the Sacred Circles program into Southwest Ohio. They will work with the program team to support volunteer engagement. They must be compassionate, nimble, and able to work under rapid response conditions.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Sacred Circles program execution with support from the Senior Manager of Social Impact and the Director of Membership

  • Ensure program alignment with organizational strategic plan and goals

  • Work in close collaboration with the Senior Manager of Social Impact and Community Organizer on:

    • Integration of organizing, membership, and communal care strategies

    • Regional program rollout and scaling

    • Public-facing community engagement events

  • Represent OWA at coalition meetings, partner convenings, and community gatherings

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community-based organizations, service providers, and movement partners

  • Establish and maintain good relationships with clients, abortion service providers, community partners, health care offices, and various other medical and non-medical support services with support from Be Well team members

  • Support and co-lead orientation training for volunteers

  • Gather and prepare information in collaboration with the Director of Membership in advance of client needs; track data related to practical care and compile information into reports, such as quarterly reports, evaluation reports, and end-of-year reporting 

  • Communicate timely and efficiently with  strategic partners, clients, volunteers, event attendees, and other parties

  • Oversee the daily operations of individual volunteer shifts

  • Coordinate volunteers to meet the needs and expectations of clients 

  • Uphold HR policies and procedures; ensuring accuracy, consistency, adherence to professional standards, and legal compliance.

  • Drive MAP clients to and from clinic appointments when required

Qualifications:

  • Shares the progressive values of Reproductive Justice, Health, & Rights

  • Strong project management, time management, and planning skills, with demonstrated ability to take initiative and drive projects forward independently

  • A personal and professional commitment to ongoing development as an anti-racist leader

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in direct service or patient care

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in coalition building or relationship management

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively build and sustain durable relationships with a wide variety of people

  • Fluency with Google Suite, including Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Slides, and Drive

A Plus, But Not Required:

  • Familiarity with the political landscape and ecosystem of Reproductive

  • Justice, Health, and Rights-oriented organizations and agencies in Ohio, the Midwest, and nationally

  • Abortion doula training, or receive abortion doula training within the first year of hire

  • Trauma-Informed Care Training 

  • Experience with any of the following platforms is a plus, though not required

    • (training will be provided): EveryAction, Slack, VAN, Airtable, dialer service 

    • Experience in customer service working with different and various populations 

    • Familiarity with translation services and/or experience having worked with a translator 

Compensation
The salary range for this position is $60,000 and commensurate with experience. OWA is proud to offer eligible employees a robust benefits package, including 100% employer-paid medical, vision, and dental insurance plans, life insurance, and a 401(k) retirement plan with a discretionary 4% employer contribution. Eligible employees receive additional fringe benefits, including the Doula and Reproductive Health Policy and 16 weeks of Extended Paid Leave. Eligible staff receive 22 days of paid time off, and the organization observes 13 holidays.

OWA is eager to fill this important role. We will work with the final candidate to select a mutually agreeable start date that would ideally happen in late July. We understand that staff have personal, family, and community obligations and have a flexible workplace to support these needs. We do offer 12 paid holidays and 20 days of PTO each year, as well as medical, dental, and health insurance. We offer a Simple IRA contribution program with a 2% match without a required contribution after 90 days of employment.

Accessibility Info & Physical Requirements:

  • This position is designed to be mostly remote with the option to utilize our shared office space in Cincinnati. While daily work is mostly remote, there is an expectation to attend occasional in-person meetings and events.

  • Our shared office space is located in a building less than a block from accessible public transportation

  • This office has an entrance with no steps near free, accessible parking and an elevator.

  • The office has an ADA accessible bathroom

  • Physical requirements include: long periods of sitting, working on a computer in chunks of time that can extend to 8-hour days, consistent communication via computer, driving/being transported for occasional travel
